Standard Cooker Hood Cleaning
A standard clean is for a wall-mounted domestic hood, usually 60cm or 90cm, with mesh or baffle filters over the hob. Book it when the filters are yellow, the fan has lost pull, or grease has started to mark the steel.
Which fittings this covers
Included
- Filters out, degreased, and refitted
- Canopy underside and light surround
- Visible fan opening wiped where it can be reached
- Hob and nearby worktop protected while we work
Not this visit
- We do not repair or replace the fan motor, wiring, or switches.
- We do not fit a new hood or alter the duct route.
- A whole-kitchen or oven clean is a different visit.
- We do not issue a compliance certificate for a commercial extract system.
Signs it is time
- Grease drips onto the hob
- Fan is louder and moves less air
- Yellow mesh that no longer looks silver
What changes the quote
The quote moves with width, how thick the grease is, and whether the filters can be saved or need replacing. A lightly used 60cm hood is a shorter visit than a 90cm hood that drips.
DIY and after the visit
Soaking the mesh in hot washing-up liquid is the DIY part. It does not reach the fan housing. If suction is still poor after a home soak, the housing needs the professional clean.
You can cook again once the metal is dry and the filters are back in. A light film of new grease is normal after the next fry-up. Book again when filters look loaded or the fan smells of old oil as soon as it starts.
