Island Hood Cleaning
An island hood hangs from the ceiling over a central hob. Grease falls back onto the hob if the filters are saturated, and the underside is harder to reach from a stool. Book it when drips land on the island or the ceiling rose looks stained.
Which fittings this covers
Included
- Filters removed at height with the hob covered
- Underside and reachable housing cleaned
- Filters refitted
- Floor and island top protected
Not this visit
- We do not repair or replace the fan motor, wiring, or switches.
- We do not fit a new hood or alter the duct route.
- A whole-kitchen or oven clean is a different visit.
- We do not issue a compliance certificate for a commercial extract system.
Signs it is time
- Drips onto the island hob
- Staining where the hood meets the ceiling
- Weak pull despite a large canopy
What changes the quote
Height and access change the quote. A hood over a large island takes longer to protect and to reach than a wall hood of the same width.
DIY and after the visit
Cleaning an island hood from a chair is how filters get dropped onto the hob. Leave the overhead work to the visit.
You can cook again once the metal is dry and the filters are back in. A light film of new grease is normal after the next fry-up. Book again when filters look loaded or the fan smells of old oil as soon as it starts.
