Chimney Hood Cleaning
A chimney hood has a visible steel or glass tower as well as the canopy. Grease sits on the chimney panels and inside the filter tray, not only on the mesh. Book it when the tower looks streaked or the glass edge is sticky.
Which fittings this covers
Included
- Filters removed and cleaned
- Canopy and the reachable chimney faces degreased
- Glass wiped without abrasive pads
- Filters refitted
Not this visit
- We do not repair or replace the fan motor, wiring, or switches.
- We do not fit a new hood or alter the duct route.
- A whole-kitchen or oven clean is a different visit.
- We do not issue a compliance certificate for a commercial extract system.
Signs it is time
- Brown streaks on the chimney
- Sticky glass above the hob
- Smell of old oil when the fan starts
What changes the quote
Glass and a taller chimney take more care than a plain box. The quote changes with finish (brushed steel or glass), grease thickness, and filter condition.
DIY and after the visit
Spray cleaner on the outside of the chimney only shifts the film you can see. The filters and the lip inside the canopy are where the smell stays.
You can cook again once the metal is dry and the filters are back in. A light film of new grease is normal after the next fry-up. Book again when filters look loaded or the fan smells of old oil as soon as it starts.
