Extract Duct Cleaning
Duct cleaning is for the pipe after the hood, where grease keeps travelling once the filters are full. Book it when the filters are clean and suction is still poor, or when a commercial canopy has a greasy run toward the fan.
Which fittings this covers
Included
- Filters off so the duct mouth is open
- Reachable duct degreased from the hood
- A straight answer if the run is longer than we can clean from the hood
- Filters refitted
Not this visit
- We do not repair or replace the fan motor, wiring, or switches.
- We do not fit a new hood or alter the duct route.
- A whole-kitchen or oven clean is a different visit.
- We do not issue a compliance certificate for a commercial extract system.
Signs it is time
- Good filters, weak airflow
- Grease at the duct joint
- Smell that seems to come from inside the ceiling or wall
What changes the quote
A short accessible duct is a smaller quote than a long run with poor access. If we cannot reach the fan on the roof from the hood, we say that before you book a job we cannot finish.
DIY and after the visit
Do not push degreaser up a duct with the fan running. It comes back down onto the hob.
You can cook again once the metal is dry and the filters are back in. A light film of new grease is normal after the next fry-up. Book again when filters look loaded or the fan smells of old oil as soon as it starts.
